New technology makes waste-free production in poultry farms real

The company "Kera-tech", a winner of Generation S accelerator and BiotechMed track was established in 2012 in Kemerovo. General Director Anna Linnnik was a student with a degree in "Food Biotechnology", considering the ways to turn waste into protein in poultry farms with more environmentally friendly and less costly manner.

She has developed a biological product, which convert poultry organic waste (feathers, beaks, bird legs) into protein supplement for animal feed instead of burning or burial it, and thus harming the environment.

This technology also helps to reduce the cost of synthetic feed additives and to switch to the domestic production completely. The cost of 1 kg of a biological product allows you to recycle 1 ton of waste in 890 kg of feed protein within just 12 hours  for 55-65 rubles, which reduces the cost of poultry feed by 18%.

Thus, in the near future, the production of modern Russian poultry farms can become waste-free. At the moment, domestic farms produce 18 million tons of waste annually. Their processing leads to release of huge amounts of toxins into the soil and the atmosphere.
