On Thursday, December 10, 2015, Senior Vice-Presidents of the "Skolkovo" Foundation Alexander Chernov and Vasily Belov, as well as vice president of Skolkovo Tech Alexei Sitnikov in a press conference with foreign journalists told about the project results over the last five years.
First of all, they reminded of the words of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, who has repeatedly stressed that the Skolkovo has passed the point of no return. Skolkovo is a nonprofit organization funded by the state. These funds are mainly allocated to the construction of industrial parks in Russian regions ("Innopolis" in Tatarstan and "Titanium Valley" in the Sverdlovsk region).
Since February 2015 Skolkovo opened its office in the Far East and plans to open an office in China to help Russian start-ups to enter the local market and to establish the technology transfer.
Furthermore, SKOLKOVO is implementing an extensive granting program, which attracts private investors. According to fund managers, the project includes a great number of directions and has no analogues in the world.
"Skolkovo Tech - not about fundamental science, but about a fundamental impact on the economy and education - Vice-President of the University Alexey Sitinikov stated. - Skoltech helps to transform ideas into new markets, companies and profits. This is a new type of organization, which had no analogues not only in Russia, but also in other countries. "
According to Vasily Belov, innovative solutions developed in Skolkovo have been introduced in 11 of 20 major Russian companies such as Gazprom, Lukoil, Rosneft, Russian Railways, etc., and attracted investments from 5 global pharmaceutical giants such as Pfizer, J & J, Sanofi, Medtronic, Roche.
